Now that my brother has a baby daughter to look after he's really changed character, in fact he is behaving so out of character he's even planning what's happeneing for Xmas.... he doesn't even plan what bowl to have his cornflakes out of... infact he'd have them from a plate and not bat an eyelid....

Yup, time for a four X post, I've not been posting much lately as I've tajken matters into my own hands, not too long ago a friend told me about Forex Trading, I've been looking for ages for a way to get out of the rat race and I'm feeling like taking a few risks so I've been spending a lot of time finding out about chart analysis and messing round on free demo accounts to see if it is really possible for me to make any kind of money doing this and finally give up the day job.... I've been wondering about getting an iPad for a while now but borrowed a netbook for a friend before I went on a flight to Jersey. The great thing about it was that it was light, not too fiddly, but the best part the screen was great for viewing films but also I got great internet reception and streemed things like SeeSaw seamlessly. I watched loads of stuff and the time in the terinal just flew past.
Comedy section was great, I can't watch anything too serious and intense, I just can't concentrate on it and watch for my flight. With comedy it's great, it's always in nice bite sizes that entertains you, but don't require you to try and keep following a complicated plot.

The best part about Comedy Section is seeing some of the comedy programmes I hadn't seen in a while, like "Red Dwarf" and "Fawltey Towers", some of them are just sheer classics and great for passing the time. I spent ages watching "Father Ted", I've seen every episode of every serious atleast a dozen times and it just keeps getting funnier.

I remember as a kid staying up late to watch "The Young Ones" and remember how my parents just didn't approve of it, not one little bit. I'm going to be stuck on this site for ages and next time I'm might actually miss my flight, but there's nothing to worry about, I will have plenty to keep me entertained until I can get another one.

Just back from the island of Jersey, that little offshore tax haven that's almost like a small island holiday camp and can't be bothered to cook, so having a chinese!!!!!

Shredded beef in a chilli and plum souce, Singapore Vermincelli and may all time favourite Chicken Fried rice with a tub of curry sauce to pour all over it... BUuurrpp!!!!

Everyone home safe and sound now, we managed to complete the challenge just outside of the alloted 24 hours but just 20 minutes, but everyone wants to do it again next year and everyones really pleased with their acheivement. We all had fun which is what matters most and we managed to get a few more ££££ for charity too and we have some nice photographs and memories too, and a good few laughs.

I like the recipe on here as it's simple and quick, but I prefer to cut some of the corgettes and Aubergines a little more finely nad sometimes like to add some beans too as I usually find it doesn't fill me up for long, so the beans bulk it out a little.

Looking around and getting ideas for my break, I've found through a little bit of digging around on different carrier's websites I've managed to find a couple of nice cheap flights to Dublin. I've never been before, been to Belfast and the north as well as parts of the south but never the Capital of the south. Might book it tomorrow but I need to work out the finances and see what hotels and accomodation is like round there.

Oh my goodness, this back to work thing is just no fun! Even after one day of vacation and relaxing it makes you want to run away forever, there is only one problem with that, the world never stops even if you run away, there are still bills to pay and things to take care of and truthfully it just sucks!

Have you ever noticed that before going on vacation and when coming back there is more stress then what you started with? Before leaving for a few days I wanted my house in order and I was also going crazy on my faithful MP3 Search Engine, so I had enough mosic for my trip.

There is nothing more relaxing then discovering a new country, town or city with your favurite music playing in the background.

I was having a blast from the past being in the town I was raised and playing old(er) music that sent me back to the past. I do not know why it has taken me so many years to go back to where I grew up but it was fun and I should do it again sometime soon and obviously not forgetting my music!

Why do I do this to myself, there I am enjoyiong my time away from work, walking down the street when I duck into a side road off the busy high street to take a call.
Suddenly I notice there on the ground a £5 note.

At first I think... cool £5, then I think, but it's not mine, in some way's it's stealling.... but if I don't pick it up, someone else will and they wont bat an eyelid..... but what if it belongs to someone on a pension or very little money.... I could put it in a charity box!... I pick it up and my moral dilema continues as I walk along the street. Then I walk past a pub... and I stop, and I think.... and I think.... I would walk over the road, gte a newspaper and sit in the Pub and have a pint and relax... I am on Holiday.... then I think like I'm in an episode of My name is Earl"... and I think about Karma and "Do good things and good things happen... etc etc" amd so I think ... what would Earl do?.... Forget buying a newspaper and just take one of the abandoned ones in the pub and have 2 pints instead of one?

Not sure if that's Earl takling or me...

Anyway... I didn't, I've come home and it's sat on top of the TV.... not sure what I'll do with it.

Most people would probably have spent it by now.... there is something clearly very wrong with me.

Day One: The Flame Thrower!

So finally made it to my campsite, left good and early, took it easy on the accelerator and got here in good time, but only 90 minutes of day light and priority one is shelter. So up with the tent .... in no time at all suprisingly for someone that hasn't camped in such a long time, so after the tent up and making like the preverbiable "Bear in the wood", there's only one thing left to do to cement my camping credentials..... yup.... gotta cook something, then I know I am master of all I survey... so out with both camping stoves an arsenal of pots and pans and then I notice..... forgot the matches..... but he, one stove is self lighting, light one and use it to light the other... dead easy. so carfully I start to bring the second stove closer to the already lit first stove...... WHOOOOSHH!!!! it only has two settings.....off and flamming Armageddon..... I'm flayling around thrashing this way and tyhe next way.... the flames are shootiing everywhere... I keep thinking.... OMG it's going to explode....then a tiny voice speaks to "Smother it".... so I slam it into the ground... not a good idea with a gas cannister that your holding..... for obvious reasons...... then a second of clarity..... it has a knob on the side.(It has one holding it too)... I turn the knob and whooom.... crisis overted.....

You know... I used to work in management, teamwork was always the No1 approach... you can't stand over peoples shoulders all the time, I mean, you do have other things to do. However you have to maintain discipline, you have to command respect or all team cohesion starts to break down, people goof off and nothing gets done.

But I sure as S**t wouldn't sack anyone over a cheese slice. Ok theft is theft... but you have to know the difference between a malicious act to deprive the business secretly of an asset or a resource... or just poorly maintained management discipline within the workforce... if you create the oppertunity then someone will always take advantage.... if you keep discipline, then these things don't happen.

Anyway..... I better get this laptop back to the guy in work I .. borrowed it from..... LATERS!!!!!

I have been snowed in the last 2 days so it is working at home and before you all think that is really good and great, I can tell you it is not all that as these four walls seem to be closing in on me and is making me feel like I could just scream.
There is nothing I can do about it, work is work and snow is snow, I just have to handle what work and mother nature throw at me.

I love Christmas, it's great, it's a time of the year to think about friends and loved ones and try and spread a little cheer, yes, you buy gifts for people so it's always a lucrative time of the year for retailers.... but there is something that is always going to rankle people and that is using it to try and just extract money from peoples pockets by creating a TV programme that willl only have a finale at one time of the year and that is the peak time before Christmas to release a record to try and cash in on the season and see it get to No1, a nice little advertising coup. So is it any wonder people decide to make sure some pap wasn't rammed down their throat but to rally behind a different, less exploitative of the season song. What other means did people have to say to the producers on the X factor that they were sick of having Christmas hijacked so they could make money. I'm glad it's not No1, not because I hate the song, not because I hate the show, not because I hate the winner..... but because it's a time of year I want to mean something so everyone and I mean something that makes us all feel united which is what I felt the Xmas no1 symbolised, but once it became a money making machine it took something away from everyone whether they liked the xmas No1 in previous years or not.

I'm just caught up in nothing, absoluelty othing that I can't think straight, I'm worrying and stressing about Christmas but I'm doing nothing about it.

Even taking time off work hasn't helped.

Nevermind, soon be the New Year and a fresh start for everyone and a bit of a clean slate. Maybe then I wil find things easier to work on.

It's a struggle

The only thing I hate about Christmas is that I spend soooo long agonising about what to get people, I usually start out with a general idea of what I want to get everyone, a kind of theme and hen work things in from there. The problem is when I do that I end up getting the sort of things I'd rather get for myself so still end up rushing around trying to get presents last minute. I've decided that I'm going to try and get people food, things like olives and cheese and maybe wine. I hate getting things for people, things that are just things, but food is something they can enjoy and share with other people which is a lot nicer. There is one odd present I may get people and that is something called "Camp" it's a Chicory and Coffee syrup that when I was a kid I used to add to coffee and also take with me when I went camping, adding just the right amount always makes coffee taste a little mellower.

My ebay experiment is going OK so far, I've only sold a couple of things and so far I've made about a quarter of my money back and only sold 3 out of the 20 items I purchased. In the next few days the remaining 3 items that I put on there will expire, I'll either wait for a free listing day and relist with a few more of the items I have, but at a lower price than before or with no reserve and see how they go. Really I'm treating this as a learning experience, I think next time I will put fewer things on but more frequently with the idea of handling less items.

I really need to get organised.
Last year by november Christmas was all sown up, most of the presents and gifts for people where bought, cards where written, money saved and plans made, so far I have exactly 0% of all that done, OK I have some coins put away which I susually use to buy stamps at the supermarket as during December you get extra ££'s for a full book. There have almost always been times in my life where I have had to stretch every single penny out to it's maximum so I've always put a £1 coin away every month as it really helps take the bite out of Christmas.

Politicians are always talking about Broken Britain but while these individuals are allowed to get away with such heinous acts.... I just don't know how anyone can sleep safe at night.

Two children were acting up in a rowdy manner, basically acting like a pair of kids; an MGP (Member of the General Public) was there dually chastised the two children. It now transpires this MGP was also known to the two and was related by parentage i.e. she was their Mother. Thank god there was an Off duty policeman around who with quick thinking and bravery, secretly followed her and her children to their residence and once all evidence was gathered made a full report, why the diligence of this officer wasn't rewarded with a medal and some sort of commendation I just do not know!

But it's shocking that it took the rest of the local Constabulary 6 weeks to put all the pieces together and tackle this dangerous individual, the officers colleagues should feel rightly ashamed at they're total lack of zeal in apprehending this offender.... what happened to "Zero Tolerance?" I hear you cry...

Well when Justice does eventually move it moves swiftly, two officers were promptly dispatched to the home of the suspect where they could question her... phew!!! Finally someone acted.

Nevertheless.... her conduct has been noted and is on record with the Local Authorities and will remain so for the next 14 years... 14 years? this is an OUTRAGE!!!!!!... What does it take before someone acts, whatever next, a sore smack on the hand to stop a child from touching a hot cooker ring, the humiliation a child has to endure when a parent spits in a hanky to remove grime from a child’s face... I just don't know what's wrong with these people.

I must write to the local MP, bring back the stocks, bring back hanging... A flogging is too good if you ask me.

Remembrance Sunday

Today is Remembrance Sunday and this year the same as every year since I was a child I went to the Cenotaph along with a lot of other people, I buy a Poppy and listen to the music, the parades and listen to some of the readings.
I was never in the service, I used to be in the Army Cadet Force when I was you and it was a huge turning point for me and instilled values of good citizenship that I still follow today. I go because lots of my friends did join up, some have come home, some haven't.

Whatever you think of the conflicts going on around the globe, no matter what you may think of those fighting in them, these are still real people fighting and dying, Remember that, before moralising on the rights and wrongs of these conflicts or passing judgment on them.

Sold another case on ebay.... I have to admit though that even with a lot of preperation it can be a lot of hassle. One item I still have no idea if it's recieved yet, the person was previously very uncommunicative and also I really don't want to lose my 100% rating over a missing package when I know I did everything right..... no matter what anyone says... in the U.K. it is pretty rare considering the volume of mail sent for things to go missing. The Royal Mail even has it's own Department to deal with theft and people interfering with the mail.

So far my forray into the world of ebay is going ok, sold 2 items all paid for, just waiting for the dreaded confirmation that they have been recieved. and one waiting to see if they are interested in buying something else I put on there. Basically I have been a little reckless, I set myself a goal this year to try and be a bit more fearless and take risks. So I went to an auction, bought a load of stuff (About £300) and I want to try and shift it on Ebay. I don't want to lumber people with second hand junk so I'm testing everything and being as honest as possible, yes I want to sell it, but I don't want people feelinf ripped off either. hopefully I will break even, or at best end up a little richer, all funds will pay off the credit card bill I acquired amassing this stuff and hopefully a little left over to go towards Xmas.

I am not liking these cold mornings! You roll out of a nice warm bed, pull the blankets back, feet on the floor then you scream from the cold! In a blink of an eye the weather has snapped into winter and I am not liking it to much at all!
I need more then a water bottle to keep me warm at night, it has been an idea or putting a fire under my bed but I am sure that the insurance will not cover me if they know it was a camp fire just to keep me warm and lets not even think about what the neighbours would say!

How long till xmas!!!

I'm having panic attacks.... I love shopping and buying presents for other people.
Nothing delights me more than finding a special gift for someone that I know they love and several years later still have and gives them fond memories. That's more important to me than giving a present or the religious side of things, I always like to have a positive influence on peoples lives. So I have to get moving, I've been too snowed under with work that when I did ave some time off I enjoyed just doing nothing.... now I need to get cracking...

Valkenburg

This is one of the places I visited in Holland called Valkenburg which had these amazing caves that I can't wait to go back and see properly and the town was beautiful. When we all got there , they were doing stone carvings in the street and they looked amazing, The stone is so soft and pourous they could make all kinds of shapes from them and there was still the remains of the shelfish from what was once a sea bed centuries ago.

I've had such a relaxing time that I have done absoluetely nothing at all to blog about. I like blogging but I can see that too much relaxation can be detramental to my blog so I'm going to try and think of something to get me motivated over the next few days. There's loads of stuff I did in Holland but I didn't take any pictures.... mainly ate liquorice, Stamppot and lots of soked sausage.... yum.... so will try and recall some of that before it becomes too distant a memory

The weekend has started and it's not long till xmas.
I'm going to try and make some time to do things, there's a place not too far away and a nice drive even though I hate driving called Howarth, it's popular because of the Bronte's and if you take the scenic route you can head through lovely villages like Sowerby and Hebbdon Bridge it's also famous for a film called "The Railway Children" and has a fully working steam train tour and at Christmas everyone dresses in period costume. It's great fun and I love xmas I always make sure Xmas is special.

Just back from a well deserved break. I took some time out from pretty much everything and focused on trying to get my place straight, experiment with a new project and take a trip to The Netherlands. I had a fantastic time, the country is really lovely and there are some interesting places to visit. I did go to Amsterdam a couple of times but mainly I spent some time in the countryside. Tried loads of different food and especially loved Stamppot which I will post a recipe on, it's definetly worth a try.

Ahh I am giggling my butt off, This is Tiddles, the friend MyUtopia is visiting in The Netherlands and I am just popping in to let you know, some of you guys are just silly!
When one goes on vacation you know there are a few things you take with you, tooth brush, comb, clean socks and under pants (you know what your mum says about having clean underpants on!)
So there are some things you just have to take with you, so i laughed myself silly when MyUtopia started freaking out the other day when he was writing a list of things to pack I heard something like AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

Probably not, well that post about Holland and not yet having a camera reminded me of yesterday in the part. We're in autumn but despite that the weather's been pretty good, fairly warm excpet in the evenings as the days are getting shorter and plenty of sunshine and not much in the way of rain. In the park I like to visit there's a large rock garden full of trees and lots of different oplants, but they all seem to be in a state of flux. Some look ready for winter and have started to change but only a little, others that are more autumn blooming are starting to come out and some that should be showing signs of autumn still look like they have done all summer. So there's a huge mixter of light browns with dark deep greens everywhere and still lots of flowers in bloom. Yesterday there were lots of families their too so I stopped off for Coffee and cake and to read my paper.

After about 30 minutes I was all done, the coffee and cake gone within 5 minutes of sitting down to have them under an acer tree. I should warn you... I'm a nutter magnet, if your reading this blog you probably fall into one of two categories, (a) You're an entrecard dropper, so thanks for dropping by or (b) you're a nutter, in which case welcome, take a seat next to the others.

So I tidy the table, get the plate, fork and coffee mug ready to take back inside when someone calls to me... "hey mate!.... can you spare any loose change?"... at this point I realised teh days was going too well... I replied "no... sorry". OK, I'm Scottish and we have a reputation for being a little tight... in fact I have mentioned to a friend on several occasions that copper wire was invented by to scots fighting over a penny, also that if a scotsman dropped 50p it would hit him on the back of his head as he bent to pick it up. In this case, I just dont give money to homeless people, not beause I'm uncharitable, but over hear I know there are places they can get food and get help.

So anyway, I start to fold my paper again and not quite finished with me yet he replies "Finished with your paper?....", no, I said, it happens I was about to head home and finish it their, "seen the Grand Prix?"..... an unusual tactic that nearly caught me off guard and must have been some sort of ploy to cuk me into further conversation, sorry but I had things to do that day, so I told the truth much to my embaressment and to his disbelief, "No, I haven't seen the Grand Prix as I haven't got a TV"... I was totally polite... but he immediately looked away in disgust as if I'd just had a dump in his breakfast, like I'd just told a blatant lie.

Ah well the rest of the day went well anyway.

Finally I have booked a flight to Holland, I've not had much of a break this year or a chance to get way so I'm really looking forward to this. I haven't been outside the UK much in a while and I've never been to Holland and to be honest anytime anyone has ever mentioned Holland I've imagined it's all like Amsterdam. Amsterdam is still not a bad place to visit but from the pictures a friend has sent me there's a lot more to it that I know I'm going to love. We're also going to the Efteling which I'm told is amazing so I'm looking forward to that too.
If I can get a Camera sorted out between now and when I leave then hopefully I will have some pictures to put on this blog.

If you never hear from me again it's either because I've decided not to come back or I've overdosed on these bad boys.

Finally booked a bit of time off and got loads of stuff sorted.
There's a food and drink festical on in Manchester so I will definetly being going to that..... and not driving as I wont to taste lots and lots of wine.
Then get some lovely cheeses, especially Pecarino as I love that on scrambled eggs, then I will just take it easy, get some stuff sorted around the house and things. As for the rest of it, I might see if I can get a last minutes deal somewhere, leave Saturday and come back on Sunday or Monday. Trying to save money so wont be doing anything for more than a couple of nights tops.

Just as I was coming home MGMT came on the radio so that's got me in the mood for relaxing and enjoying myself.

I have a friend who makes amazing jewellery but she is a little lazy at the moment, I do not mean with the making of her necklaces and things but I mean the updating from her website.
Here is my plan, I am going to get on her back about updating her website and then I will show you some of the amazing stuff she makes.
It is coming close to Christmas so I think she should get her butt into gear, though the chances are high I will want to buy a lot of her things as I have sisters to buy for and lets not forget mum!

I have some time on my hands but there's nothing I find worse than being stuck at a lloose end..... I mean I have lots of holiday time to take and I want to take it... I just don't want to be sat at home..... Ok there are some lovely parks near me but there are only so many walks you can go for.

Anyway, I am planning on a trip to visit a friend in The Netherlands, but I'm a bit sacred, it's silly but I seam to have gotten less adventurous.....

Years ago, before the internet, I wanted to go and see a friend who was getting married in France, she invited me to the wedding, out of curtosey as a friend, but as I knew no french and I didn't have a job she didn't think I would make it. It was all in a beautiful french village called Rogne where she grew up and I remember the trouble I went to booking all the transport and looking for guide books in the library..., it all seemed like a big adventure and I really want to do something like that again. So This trip to The Netherlands I think I need to do soon, I want to feel independent again and not so petrified.

I really need to sort out something called Work,Life Balance. It's Sunday and I spent the whole of Saturday from 9:00am till 2:00am in work, I did manage to nip out for a bite, but what the heel am I thinking, I have 6 weeks holiday to take and only 4 months to do it in......
Don't get me wrong, don't pity me, it all helps towards Christmas and means that I will have some money to spend when I do take time off. Nothing worse than being on holiday with zero cash in your pocket, after all you do work and earn money, you don't do it to just pay bills, you do it to improve your quality of life.

Right off to hit the poker tables now.

It is just about the weekend and I intend to be putting my feet up, there is one slight problem with that idea and it has to do with me being at work all weekend. I am sure my boss might not like it with my feet on the desk, there is a solution to this problem, Stop giving me so many over hours and so few days off!

Someone once said "It is better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt" and the number of times I go to meetings in work and I am constantly reminded of this pearl of wisdom from even the most educated and sometimes most wordly of people makes me laugh. So true is it everyday I even see examples of it in real life. Lets take one very recent example..... umm... where to start.... I know... how about Mister Kanye West?.....

I just don't understand it... I mean what went wrong... he seemed so happy going in, looked like he was having a good time, he even had the delightful company too... here he is with his delightful company..

and here he is again still holding onto his delightful company

Although by my reckoning his delightful company has deminished somewhat from the first photograph, infact I'd say atleast half the bottle is now gone.

We need a special award for exactly this kind of thing, were people make fools of themselves publicly, a bit like the Darwin Awards but for non fatal stupidity, a sort of Non-Postumous Darwin award.

Today is the 13th of September and as usual I wake up to watch the news and have a cup of coffee while I decide how to spend my Sunday. Not to watch the cartoons... no , never....suddenly I notice a disturbing pattern, there seems to be more toy commercials than usual.... not that I usually watch the cartoons... but yep more and more of them I'd even say there were more commercials than programs.... then it dawns on me...... 15 weeks till Christmas..... Thank god I don't have kids...... don't pretend you haven't been warned, this is your 3 minute warning.....

Growing up I always wondered why the television had channels 1 to 10.... 1 to 10 when there were only 3 Television channels, BBC1, BBC2 and ITV. Of course my dad ruled the TV, he decided what we watched and most of the time it was either something on ITV or the news the later much to my brothers frustration..... It seemed to be that we were either watching the news or a soap opera or a John Wayne film or some western, he did like Clint Eastwood too so wasn't too bad. I watche "The Enforcer" last night and it was full of classic Clint quotes "CALLAHAN: Well what'd you want me to do? Yell "trick or treat" at them?".

Anyway, along came the inspirationally named "Channel Four" (Can't imagine how much they paid the marketting team to come up with that name), which to start off with, was rubbish, however my brother uncharachteristically seemed to like some of the ... err.... Art programmes.... hmmm.... then came Channel 5 , another class example of clever PR and shortly digital TV and a huge array of more free to view channels. OK there were paid for cable channels and satelite channels in the intervening years, but not free.....

With all these channels now we still have the BBC which is publicly funded and not funded by advertising, they show a lot of repeats too sometimes, but sometimes they do produce the kid of great programmes that you know on a commercial channel would just not happen like "Blue Planet" which is an example of what I love about the BBC.... but I'm glad that we still have television that is not playing to the largest crowd and is independent of any other influences, if someone owns a company they will decide what goes on. So it must really gawl people like the Murdochs' that there is some form of popular media broadcasting that they just can't buy. For years they've railed against it, when BBC launched the iPlayer allowing people to watch TV online in the UK, they said that it was anti competative, how can it be anti competative, OK all channels have to compete for viewers, but the independent TV channels don't have to compete with the BBC for advertising.

Honest...... I would never lie to you about something like this, I am the most truthful person I know, Honest! What, you don't believe me. OK I'll give you an example of my recent trip to London. A friend of mine was going to London with a friend and her daughter and this was going to be her first ever trip to London so she had lots of things planned for her to do to make the whole trip special, She even had a ride around Hyde Park organised for her as she is crazy about horses and riding on the Saturday. They were going to have such a great time and I told her I would come down and spend a day with them on Monday.

But I fibbed, just a small fib, not even a lie, instead I came down Friday, stayed in a hotel near to where they would be going for riding, got up the next day and setup my ambush. I got there 20 minutes in advance of their arrival to see where everything is and get familiar with the area and once I was in position I texted her to ask if she was nervouse about the ride.... to my horror.... she was running a little late... What top do, well I went to the stables and just mentioned she would be a little late but that she would get here and was on her way. Anyway, I got chatting with the girl at the stables and almost lost track of time. I hastily made an exit from the stables into the street and suddenly 100 yards away, there they all were. ULP.... I made a quick about face pulled out my map of London and gave it the lost tourist routine... and when they were out of site headed to my ambush point in the park and waited.

While the daughter was riding round I had intended to spring a suprise on them as they walked alongside, but chickened out and partly I knew this was a special suprise for the daughter so I decided I wasn't going to muscle in.

An hour later the ride concluded so I made my way back to the stables and 15 minutes later they all emerged all with beaming smiles on their faces. I couldn't help it, as they approached me I couldn't help but beam back..... I continued to beam right up until the point they walked straight past me.

I after they got about 3 feet past me I managed to just catch her eye with a small "Hey it's me" wave and finally the penny dropped... and my fib was exposed. Not really a lie is it? I mean... I said I would come down Monday OK... I did say I would only come down on Monday.... but, I can change my mind for reasons of "comic suprise" can't I? I'm sure it's permitted by law.

So there we were, all 4 of us chatting away and laughing, then my friend notes... "I was chatting to the girl in the stables, telling her that we were worried about being late and that a friend had help organise it but they weren't coming down till Monday... and then she started laughing... and I couldn't understand what was so funny"

Anyway... everyone had a great time and we packed in quite a bit.. there were 2 pairs of quite sore feet for sure but despite that we saw loads of things and the weather was perfect the whole time and we did loads of stuff for free which is much easier now as the majority of museums and galleries are free. So I'm going to do some posts and links to stuff that if you ever visit London will help take the sting out of it.

Trip to London

Yesterday I was supposed to travel to London... but sadly I did not make the treck from Manchester to London :-( .......................

Instead I decided to be very sneaky and travelled down there on Friday, to give a few friends a surpise.... in fact they were su suprised..... they walked straight past me........

Credit Crunchtime

With everything that's been going on in the financial markets lately, I've decided not to take my money for granted, especially as I'm at risk of losing my job at the moment because of it all.
So I'm going to try and avoid where I can giving my money to big business's that have huge profit margins and squeeze small suppliers till they pop. I'm going to shop around a lot more for everything, they need my money and no matter what I can always go out there an earn more, so intend to make them work for it.

I'm going to shop at farmers markets for food, ok will be slightly more expensive but not by much and atleast the money stays local, but things like gifts I'm also going to get from someone that made it themselves rather than from a factory that churns out thousands a second and uses child labour, just to satisfy the demands of the big high street retailers.

I had a look on ebay but I think ebay takes too big a cut but I did come accross this site "Imagination Madness", I love the designs and I think the people that I give this too as a gift will appreciate the hardwork and skill involved in making them... This one I like the most..

I am on holiday, well till tuesday anyway. I Just wanted a bit of downtime fom work and spend a bit of time just mooching abut, there's a festival on in Manchester, a jazz festival but being typically awkward, I'm not in a jazz mood, instead I'm listening to the Wilbury's, hard to believe that theses individuals got together by chance, just the right place at the right time with the same love and passion.

As the saying goes anyway..... so as I keep saying, I really don't like over the top food adn I'm progressively going back and revisiting old simple recipes, a bit like raiding your dads record collection for some classic songs from way back that are still just as good today, I'm sorting doing the same with recipes.
This morning for breakfast it was "Spanish Omlette".

I changed a couple of bits and also added a bit of Cumin and some cut green beans.
That's what's great about this it's a simple basic thing that you can add things to, to your liking.

Still researching things to see and do in London particularly with a view to them being free as this place will suck you dry. This is something I definetly want to see, the new Pavillion at the Serpentine Gallery, I love the shape of it and can't wait to see it, the only thing I think I need to worry about is the weather.

It is over, there was weather somewhat warmer for the last weeks but it has been an on and off thing, a little rain then the sun comes out so it is all sticky.
Today it is raining cats and dogs and it is the day I wanted to get a lot done, it always happens, even last night I thought it was warm and dry enough to have a BBQ, ohh was I wrong, by the time I got home and started up the bbq- out door grill it started to bucket down with rain so it was an inside BBQ!
Well I guess it is time I move my butt and try not to think of the rain so much and get some things done.

Life, how funny is it with everything that happens.
Life it is sometimes worse then a roller coaster. I am pretty sure that life and mother nature are working hand in hand to make people look stupid and to add to the roller coaster ride that we call life.
Things can be going along perfectly in life and then BAM, you fall flat on your face and what happened just before that? it rained and you landed in the mud. There were sayings made for moments like this and it was sent from mother nature.

Ok... it almost starts now, I have to work most of Saturday, but it's not Saturday, it's the exciting interlude just between work finishing and the weekend kicking off when you can get things sorted and remove the shackles of work with any means at your disposal whether thats going for a jog or a nice glass of Cognac (three guesses what I go for) lol... but the way I hope all of you are starting it is with Music!!!!!!!! nothing quite sets the tempo or temprament for the weekend than music.... On a free weekend I would like to clean up my house a little, do some shopping, sit in the park and read a quiet book and most of all sleep in!!! but do you think I get weekends free? hell no it is way to busy at work that I am not even sure what a weekend is any more!

Been thinking of getting away on and off for a while and was thinking of heading up to Scotland for a spot of camping or something. Then a friend put me onto an idea that I have to say I find facinating... in some parts of Scotland, instead of camping in a tent you can rent or even buy a Tipi....

I thought... brilliant... so I'm looking for places to go in Scotland with a Tipi, they're a little expensive to buy but I love the idea of doing it just once.

Summer time

I am not sure if summer time is over or just starting, let me explain.
It is insanity outside the office and on the streets, the kids are on summer vacation and like always they are loud and disrespectful, it is making my hair fall out and believe me when I say there is not a lot to fall out!
It is really summer weather though the last few days it is starting to cool off and there is rain way to much for my liking, so tell me, is it summer time or is it over?
