Finallly ... atlast.... a reason to be cheerful

I've loved Ian Dury and The Blockheads for ages ever since I heard the song "Hit Me with Your Rhythm Stick". He's never been a trend so never slipped in and out of fashion with peoples passing music tastes... you know.... here one song, like it, buy an album, listen to it once...... then it's stuck on your CD chelf for 18 months until a party and someone with some good music taste decides that they have to have "Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll"

Anyway... been looking forward to this for a while now so off into town to take a look.

Let it snow let is snow let is snow

I think that heading says it all. Most of England has come to a screeching Holt!
I have been snowed in the last 2 days so it is working at home and before you all think that is really good and great, I can tell you it is not all that as these four walls seem to be closing in on me and is making me feel like I could just scream.
There is nothing I can do about it, work is work and snow is snow, I just have to handle what work and mother nature throw at me.

Not a good start

So it was said there would be more blogging and getting back into the swing of things once the new year was here. Lets face it we all make plans and a lot of us break plans so here it is with me, I failed though on the bright side it is only the 5th of the month!
Right I am off to see my list and set out a real plan on what to do and how to do it, does anyone have a magic wand? Maybe a genie in the bottle I can borrow?

New Years Resolution

My New Years Resolution is definetly to do more blogging.
I've been neglecting it while I focus on other things, including entrecards which for me has been great for introducing me to other blogs.
I will be spending some time sorting my finances and also working out my goals for this year.

Hope to update you all on it soon.

Christmas No 1

I love Christmas, it's great, it's a time of the year to think about friends and loved ones and try and spread a little cheer, yes, you buy gifts for people so it's always a lucrative time of the year for retailers.... but there is something that is always going to rankle people and that is using it to try and just extract money from peoples pockets by creating a TV programme that willl only have a finale at one time of the year and that is the peak time before Christmas to release a record to try and cash in on the season and see it get to No1, a nice little advertising coup. So is it any wonder people decide to make sure some pap wasn't rammed down their throat but to rally behind a different, less exploitative of the season song. What other means did people have to say to the producers on the X factor that they were sick of having Christmas hijacked so they could make money. I'm glad it's not No1, not because I hate the song, not because I hate the show, not because I hate the winner..... but because it's a time of year I want to mean something so everyone and I mean something that makes us all feel united which is what I felt the Xmas no1 symbolised, but once it became a money making machine it took something away from everyone whether they liked the xmas No1 in previous years or not.

Happy Xmas everyone.....

This has been a good year for me. x

What do bloggers have?

If writers have writers block, what do bloggers have.
I'm just caught up in nothing, absoluelty othing that I can't think straight, I'm worrying and stressing about Christmas but I'm doing nothing about it.

Even taking time off work hasn't helped.

Nevermind, soon be the New Year and a fresh start for everyone and a bit of a clean slate. Maybe then I wil find things easier to work on.

It's a struggle

The only thing I hate about Christmas is that I spend soooo long agonising about what to get people, I usually start out with a general idea of what I want to get everyone, a kind of theme and hen work things in from there. The problem is when I do that I end up getting the sort of things I'd rather get for myself so still end up rushing around trying to get presents last minute. I've decided that I'm going to try and get people food, things like olives and cheese and maybe wine. I hate getting things for people, things that are just things, but food is something they can enjoy and share with other people which is a lot nicer. There is one odd present I may get people and that is something called "Camp" it's a Chicory and Coffee syrup that when I was a kid I used to add to coffee and also take with me when I went camping, adding just the right amount always makes coffee taste a little mellower.

Countdown to Crimbo

So far I have a grand total of 2 presents to give to people.
There's time but the problem is I'm a terrible shopper I browse, I pick, I put down, I ponder and spend ages agonising over what I think people will love for xmas.

With so little time and believe me it's not enough I am going to need some help.

The cats Pyjamas

I love cats, I miss my cat lots, but this is just way too funny to keep to myself.

Chili outside and Chili inside too

Now the days are drawing in and I'm not heading out too much I'm listening to my music a lot more and as usual it goes in phases so I've decided to slip back into my Chili's phase.

Keeping the Status Quo

I can't believe it, I can't wait to tell my friend too who is Australian and a huge fan too that Rolf Harris and the mighty Status Quo are teaming up to release a Christmas song. It's great now I know what to get her for Christmas.

Creme of the crop

I love creme eggs they are btiiliant.
Not too happy at the moment that Kraft want to buy Cadbury's and Cadbury's Creme Egg has always had a ring to it for me so the thought of a Kraft Creme egg churns my stomach.

Ebay

My ebay experiment is going OK so far, I've only sold a couple of things and so far I've made about a quarter of my money back and only sold 3 out of the 20 items I purchased. In the next few days the remaining 3 items that I put on there will expire, I'll either wait for a free listing day and relist with a few more of the items I have, but at a lower price than before or with no reserve and see how they go. Really I'm treating this as a learning experience, I think next time I will put fewer things on but more frequently with the idea of handling less items.
